“The most important thing in life is not what you want to do, it’s who you truly are, only then you’ll find your purpose.”
Paty Villegas Aka LatinX Career Coach
The Big Problem Is...
1 out of every 2 people have no enthusiasm for their work
A Gallup survey indicated ⅔ of a group of adults said if they were starting all over they would explore their career options more.
A study for the U.S News & World report asked individuals to name 3 things that contribute most to their quality of life. The top three things were:
Relationship with family

The Truth is...
Your vocational preference that aligns with your strengths and abilities will make ALL the difference in your happiness, wealth, and success.
However, a limiting mindset will negatively impact our career-related attitudes, behaviors, and beliefs, impacting our career decision-making process.
We also differ in abilities, interests, and personality traits and every occupation requires a different characteristic pattern. Many Latinx aspiring professionals struggle in identifying their personal qualities and knowing their career options. This results in settling for a job that does not light their soul on fire.
Now, more than ever, people are provided with excessive career options through technology, and little to no guidance from a professional about their career pathway. The end result creates confusion, frustration, and discouragement.
In addition, the job market can be competitive and overwhelming! Career experts stated that it may take 200+ applications to receive one job offer and a 8.3% chance of getting a job interview from a single application.
Chakrabarti, W. B. (2019, April 06).
As the job market becomes more and more competitive, it is crucial that you are prepared for the workforce.
You can go from feeling lost and confused about your future career to
gaining clarity and confidence in the direction you wish to go.
Let me give you a solution to these problems,
When you join The Career with Purpose Academy, it will provide you with the education and job training necessary for you to grow professionally.
You will learn how to develop a growth mindset and increase your confidence by knowing your personal values, interests, and talents.
You will gain clarity on careers that align with your personality traits and boost your career readiness skills so that you are no longer seeking employment but employment is seeking for you!
My name is Paty Villegas aka the Latinx Career Coach!
I am a first generation Mexican-American Latina from San Jose, California. As a young adult, I did not have the resources, influences, and role models to guide me to career success. I had low confidence in my inner potential because I struggled academically growing up. These challenges created mindset limitations, and I often struggled in believing I had natural talents to excel. As an adult, I discovered the importance of personal development and gaining clarity on my personal attributes to live a life with intention and purpose.
Today, I am a College Professor and a Latinx Career Coach with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from San Jose State and a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. Through my academic and career experiences, I found my purpose and I now LOVE WHAT I DO EVERY SINGLE DAY. I have achieved career satisfaction and have helped hundreds of students do the same.
I created the Career with Purpose Academy to help aspiring professionals just like you find clarity when it comes to what is most important in their life and career. Together, we’ll explore how your professional pursuits can become aligned with who you are and where you want to be. Whether you’re making a career transition or just looking for support to grow, I’m here to help.
Learning about yourself, examining the world of work, and optimizing your knowledge on job seeking skills will prepare you go to the next level.
What truly matters is each time you show up to your job you are working with intention and living a life with purpose.
A sense of purpose, however, is tied to understanding who you are, something many young adults have not yet acquired. That is not a negative thing; it’s simply the reality they live in. That’s until they commit to self-discovery.

Patricia is a terrific instructor for career planning. I love how she is always incorporating something new for students and sharing the latest trends in the job market. As a career coach & trainer, I worked with her to help students create effective LinkedIn profiles, resumes, and preparing for exams. Students have told me over and over again how much she cares about her students’. You want people like her who continue to provide engaging, relevant curriculum that will prepare students for success especially in expensive places like Silicon Valley.
